Minneapolis Japanese School offers Japanese language, culture, and traditions education for students in grades K through 12 on Saturdays.
Establishment and Purpose
The Minneapolis Japanese School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established by a group of parents and guardians to teach their children Japanese language, culture, and traditions, enrich their cross-cultural skills, and help them transition smoothly back into the Japanese school system upon returning to Japan. Classes are available for Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Educational Objective
With a team of experienced and qualified staff members, the school provides four hours of weekly instruction for at least forty (40) weeks per year. The curriculum focuses primarily on Japanese language and mathematics, in accordance with the Course of Study established by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan.
